Well as some of you know I was so excited to go on my little trip to Star Valley. Well it did not turn out so good. I am laughing about it now,but at the time I was crying.
Fri morning on the 17 we got up bright and early and headed out on the trip. We got to Soda Springs and as I stopped to use the restroom I noticed that my bad was starting to leak. Not to bad and still not to upset. My good cousin Gwen and Randy live there so I called and was able to go over and take care of things at her house.
On our way and happy again. We were worried that we would miss 2 of Syd's games because is took awhile. We only missed part of the the first game so that was OK. Well as I went to the restroom at the game, low and behold I had started to leak again. I will have you know the only time this every has happened was in the hospital when they were training me. I was really upset because I only had 3 bags for changing and was now down to 1 left. Its not like you can go to the local Walmart and buy what you need. I have to special order all my supplies.
Our good friends Mary and Malyana called another parent to see if they were coming and when they found out I needed supplies they actually came to Star Valley (almost 3 hours) so I could have them. Their daughter Tylee plays with Syd so they said it was a good excuse but they really did save me and I love them for that. (Penny and Larry Knowles)
So after I changed into my last one I prayed that it would be OK. Well not all prayers are what we want. As I was sitting the the last game of the day I said to Mike "Can you smell me"
Its a different smell. Not like normal poop. Doest have time to digest but I can tell. He said "You are being paranoid now. I cant smell a thing." Well he was so wrong. Imagine yourself looking down at you pants and seeing what I saw. Luckily I had a jacket that I grabbed and got out of there. It was horrible. I knew when I never came back Mike would come. Pretty soon here he came and found me in a corner because it was pouring rain outside and I did want to stand in it. Well I had no more bags so my only option was to sit the toilet or sit in the shower till Penny and Larry got there. When we called to see where they were they were still in the Valley at home so I hoped the hot water would last that long in the shower.
It did last that long but while I was in the shower my dear sweet husband decided to go to the emergency room and see if they had anything. They weren't sure but they took him in the back and let him go through a box and he found something that would work for awhile. When he came back we put it on and he went and got us Burger King. Yea. Not the steak dinner we were looking forward to for our late anniversary but I was always sick when he wanted to take me.
Finally Penny and Larry came but I decided the temp that I had on would last all night. I was blistered and bleeding from so many changes. Did not want to go through it again.
Finally we were both wiped out from all the stress. Sometimes Mike feels worse for me because he just wants to fix everything but we cant always fix what we want. He as been a blessing to me through all this. Well we we sound asleep and the phone rings. Its home and Nathan is at a friends and is home sick. Since I was in the hospital for so long we has been funny if I am away. Another good friend Michelle Tolman took him home at midnight. As soon as he crawled in be with Karli we was just fine. Finally we got to sleep again.
But NO we could be that lucky. At 2 am we heard a loud loud noise and both sat up in bed. What was that" We looked out all the windows and stepped out but could see anything. Went back to sleep. Mike did anyway. I was still scared. Then at 3:30 I heard engines roaring and all kinds of commotion. This lasted about 1/2 hour. Mike was still sound asleep. But when the cops and ambulance showed up it was time for him to wake up. We could not imagine what was going on. It sounded like a horrible fight. Finally they took a man in the ambulance but in the mean time they are searching the golf course behind us with spot lights and cops are all over with flashlights looking for what we wonder is harded criminals. Even all around our condo. Scary. Finally after almost 2 hours, they all leave and we try to go back to bed at 5 am.
The next morning the lady that owns the condo called and ask if we heard all the commotion and filled us in. At the 2 am bang it was a drunk man in a brand new 4 door nice pickup going what they figured to be around 100 mph crashed. He barely missed the #1 condo and landed the in pond behind the condos. What is funny in our friends Mary and Malyna never heard a thing. The pickup landed almost on their back patio. He walked (the drunk) right by our condos trying to get in them and trying to get in cars. He finally found a pickup a few condos down with the keys in it and was trying to steal it. So there was a fight because the owner heard him and I heard him. He couldn't get it into gear and would just rev up the motor. that when the cops and all the people showed up. As far as the search on the golf course the man couldn't remember if he had anybody with him or not so they were searching for other people.
So after a sleepless night, my bag was leaking again. We finally figured out why. My stoma where they sew my small intestine out of a hole in my stomach has malfunctioned and was coming out of where my stitches are. So it was all running down and breaking the seal on my wafers. Mike figured out how to stretch my wafers so it wouldn't happen again and it worked. If we can keep that working I wont have to have a corrective surgery.
Sydney ended up winning the tournament championship so that was the only good thing about the trip and she played really well. After our fun filled night Mike said we would try it one more night and it was alot better. So it ended up being a good trip after all.
